Out Of The Abyss

Through the Caves

Mordrin suddenly disappeared, and the party was left with Dendril, Miri, Jim Jar, Shuu Shar, Bupido, the myconid, and the twin creatures, and Eldaf to face the drider. Miri began to half terrible flashbacks to her life as nobility in a Drow city. She flashed to her memory of her friend Dendrick, and when she listened in and her of his plans to kill her and steal her position once she received it.

The drider drew her sword, and prepared to fight. The party spread out, and began to attack the drider to little effect. Every attack the party performed simply missed or bounced off of the drider's hardened skin. But then suddenly, the Drow from the prison cell charaged out, in a magic infused rage, and tried to slash at the drider unsuccessfully. After this, the drider stopped fighting, and simply remarked, "If you want to escape, so be it. But you soon will come crawling back to the safety of my prison." She then cast darkness around the room, and then disappeared.

After the darkness dissipated, the group discussed where they would go. Bupido wished to return to the city of [FILL IN]. The myconid and drow wanted to return to Netherlight Grove, presumably their home. Finally, Jim Jar wished to return to [FILL IN 2] and go home, along with the twins (Who presumably lived around the edge of the city.)

The party ran off into the next room, and found a set of Drow on a bridge like path, over a bunch of large spiders and their web. Eldaf charged these drow, and then was shot in the side and send into a painful death by spiders. The drow woman from before, the leader of the prison guards, was across the pit, on a ledge holding a bow and arrow. Jim Jar thought quickly, and threw his sword at the drow and impaled her on the wall, directly through the eyes.

Price Dendril charged forwards, and threw one of the other drow into the spider pit. Miri quickly followed, slashing 2nd drow off the ledge with her rapier's sharp end. She held the final drow in an execution stance, and asked for last words. He simply said, "Lolth will have vengeance on you," and fell into the pill willingly, cackling through his death.

With Eldaf dead, the party continued down the hall, and found a small drop into a pool of water and glowing moss. Miri dived down, and found the water clean and fresh, and so the rest of the party followed. The party found a 3 way path, one poth lead to the dark river, one went around, and the other, Shuu Shar simply described it as "Bad." Miri ordered that the party go around, and they went down a dark tunnel with some glowing mushrooms. After a while, Miri found herself suddenly alone, and in a dark wooden hallway, leading to a door. As she moved closer, she overheard Dendrick's plan to assassinate her, and when she opened the door, all she saw was Dendrick's face briefly before snapping back to reality.

The party decided, after Miri's incident, to set up camp and sleep. Miri explained her backstory through mutters to the myconid, who's named she learned to be Stool. She explained her backstory as a noble Drow, who was set to receive the position of Head Weapon Smith, due to her love of swords and rapiers. However, her friend Dendrick wished to steal her position, and due to this and her normal hate for Drow culture, she escaped on her 100th birthday, on the day she was meant to receive her position.

When Miri awoke early, she found Price Dendril, the Quaggoth, dead with a massive slash wound. She woke the myconid and Jim Jar, and accused Bupido, who she had little trust for, and both Jim Jar and Miri interrogated him. He pleaded innocence, but Miri vowed to keep an eye on him.

They came across 2 Drow, who were examples of the "1 man lies, 1 man tells the truth," senerio, which Miri wished to quickly get past. All the party received was a strange back, which Bupido quickly picked up. They continued on the path, mostly uninterrupted until Miri woke up one time, and saw Bupido chanting over Stool. She quickly went up and attempted to impale him, but due to almost demonic intervention, missed and hit his shoulder. He revealed that he was the avatar of the lord of murder, and was going to kill the party in his name. Miri attempted to attack him, but was hit and knocked off her balance. The rest of the party awoke, and drew their weapons, and soon Miri struck down Bupido by kicking him onto a wall, and driving a rapier through his neck, in a bloody coup te grace.

The party finally arrived at [FILL IN], and were forced with a choice. Go over the dark river with a makeshift raft, or sneak over the wall. They chose to sneak over, and most of the party got up safely, except for Stool. Strangely, Miri went down and make several risky attempts to bring up Stool, eventually ending up successful.

Now, inside the city, the party encountered a man selling spider mounts. Due to Miri not wanting to remember her Drow heritage, as well as the fact she was still used to the spider's reverence in drow culture, they declined the offer. The next merchant they found attempted to sell 2 cantrip crystals to Miri, but she refused. Insteal, she bought an ornate cloak, since she didn't seem the harm.

They soon found out from this woman that the only way through this city to Netherlight Grove, was through an embassy of a house sort of allied by at ends with Miri's house (Or rather, former house) Dravovich. They managed, somehow, to get by without the guards recognizing Miri, and began their way towards Netherlight grove.

But as Miri soon found out, Jim Jar had taken Bupido's strange bag, claiming he saw no harm in it. Miri asked him to get rid of it, but he declined, and simply requested that, "if I begin to change, at all, personality wise, kill me on the spot…"

The Escape

Our adventure begins with our heroes captured, bound, blinded, and gaged, and brought to a prison camp in the Underdark. Our 2 heros, Miri Dravovich, and Mordrin Eronile, awake, and find themselves near hopelessly trapped, and unarmed. They found themselfs trapped with a fish like creature named Shuushar (the awakened), a gnome sized creature named Jim Jar, a Dwarven Women named Eldaf, a strange creature named Buppido, along with 2 strange, twin creatures. There were 3 other, less noticble prisoners, notibly, another drow, a orc, and a myconid sprout

Miri, a former Drown Noble turned rebel and rogue, attempts to escape with her personal lockpicks, but is seen and stopped by the guards and a strange drow women, who appeared to lead the guards. Miri is then attacked by the guards and this drow, and the cell is reinforced with more guards.

Mordrin, a enigmatic wood elven druid, noticed a small myconid, and when he went near he was blasted with spores, and could hear the myconid in his head. He was informed that there was a small exit to the cell. He told Miri about this, and she convinced the other prisoners to follow her and Mordrin down the hole the first chance they got. Luckily, the guards were quickly called away to deal with an emergency. The party, excluding the other drow and the orc, all went down the pit and went into a sort of barracks.

Immediately, the group was assaulted by a quaggoth entering the chamber. Miri armed herself with a set of pliers, and beat it over the arm as it entered the room. The twin creatures then clawed into the beast and knocked it prone. Mordrin took advantage of this, and burnt the beast's hairs to a crisp. The creature was finished off by a blow to the head from Miri.

The party moved on to a hallway, where they encountered a small box. Miri attempted to open it, and then her hand was bitten into by the mimic she attempted to open. Mordrin killed the mimic before it could do lasting damage to Miri, and they proceeded onwards.

The next room was filled with boxes, mostly of confiscated gear. Miri armed herself with her Rapier, homemade and guard dagger, and proceed to arm the rest of the party. Jim Jar and Buppido both received a shortsword, the myconid received a dagger, Eldaf received a warhammer, and Buppidio and Shuusar received no extra weapons.

Suddenly, a Quaggoth entered the chamber, but quickly ducked away after seeing Miri. Mordrin coaxed it to return, and the party found out it was Price Derendril, a high elf cursed into a quaggoth. He joined the party, and they returned to the starting chamber.

They found another quaggoth, but quickly killed it, given their better equipment.

The party returned to the cell, and opened the now unlocked door and left, only to find a half spider half drow in front of them, and then Miri's vision began to blur…
